Guide to Barnsley, Yorkshire
Barnsley is South Yorkshire city with a population of over 70,000 people. Despite the reputation of a running down the center of Barnsley is home to an impressive array of shops and restaurants. For other exhibitions around Barnsley, J & K Wood is a development workshop with an exhibition space dedicated to works of art, and the College of Arts Creative Barnsley host an annual celebration of excellence, featuring the work of their students.
Theaters
The theater complex Lamproom Barnsley Located in a former Methodist chapel in Westgate, and three theater groups: Lamproom Theatre Company, Musical Theatre and Theatre Company Lamproom Youth. The Lamproom offers a wide range of large-scale productions, including talent shows, musical theater, a solo exhibition and the popular Christmas pantomime.
Barnsley also has a number of independent theater companies, specializing in non-traditional theater and performance. These include Mark Mark Productions, slapstick comedy and magic, faceless and Theatre Company
Restaurants
Barnsley downtown has much to offer to eat. In addition to a wide range of takeaways and fast food, Barnsley has several restaurants and concert halls abound in contemporary across the country and the combination of experience eat with a more lively night.

As a government goal to promote sport and athletics, Barnsley (and many other areas) are now home to a multitude of facilities sports.
There are many leisure facilities in Barnsley. The Barnsley Metrodome is a huge leisure complex, including four swimming pools, squash, bowls, gym, dance studio and health later. Athersley Leisure Centre offers gymnastics and athletics, and football training on artificial turf fields. The stadium has Dorothy Hyman state of the art facilities and athletic coach. Other leisure facilities include Hoyland Leisure Centre, Leisure Centre and the Penistone Royston Leisure Centre.
